Ken Paxton, Texas’ attorney general, announced Friday that his office’s Child Exploitation Unit arrested 22-year old Jarrett Ray Dwayne Palitza of Adkins on six counts of possession of child pornography after executing a search warrant of his residence.
The unit received a request for assistance from the Sealy Police Department involving a case of sexual assault of a 10-year old girl and potential possession and distribution of child pornography. On May 26, the press release from the AG’s office said, investigators executed a search warrant at Palitza’s residence in Adkins, resulting in the discovery of child pornography, including an image of the previously identified 10-year old female child, stored on Palitza’s cellphone.
“One more dangerous individual is off the streets and behind bars thanks to the efforts of the Child Exploitation Unit and the Sealy Police Department,” Paxton said. “My office will remain steadfast in protecting our children and our communities from the heinous acts of these child predators and continue seeking justice against them.”
The release went on to say that the Texas Attorney General’s Office works to protect children by taking child predators off the internet and putting them into jail. The agency arrests predators who commit crimes against children using technology and online and uses the latest technology to track down some of the most “profoundly evil” predators on the internet.
Paxton urged all parents and teachers to realize the risks our children face online and take steps to help ensure their children’s safety.
