ASU Rams basketball ranked in Top 10 in National Association of Basketball Coaches poll

The Angelo State University Rams men’s basketball team hit the national top 10 rankings at No. 8 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches poll Tuesday afternoon. The team is also ranked No. 10 in the D2SIDA Media Poll, also released Tuesday.

According to a press release from Angelo State, the ranking comes after the Rams downed Midwestern State in its Lone Star Conference opener. ASU is the highest-ranked Lone Star Conference team in the NABC poll, but the conference is also represented by Tarleton State who remained at No. 15 and West Texas A&M at No. 19.

ASU remains undefeated at 6-0 and 1-0 in the LSC, while continuing to boast the conference’s only undefeated record.

The Rams travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, Dec. 18 to play in the team’s second consecutive Holiday Hoops Classic where they face off against Rollins (Florida) at 1 p.m. Dec. 18 and Simon Fraser (British Columbia, CA) at 7:45 p.m. Dec. 19.
