ASU junior receives Goldman Sachs internship, scholarship

An Angelo State University junior has received a summer internship at the Dallas Goldman Sachs office. Christian Garcia has additionally awarded a $15,000 scholarship for excellence from the company.

Garcia is pursuing a double major in accounting and finance and is San Angelo native and Central High School graduate. He’s a member of the ASU Honors Program who applied for and was accepted for Goldman Sachs Diversity Day, a highly competitive camp for undergraduates that also serves as a fast-track into the internship program. The 10-week paid internship includes travel costs and a stipend for housing.

Garcia is a regular on ASU’s Dean’s List and is the president of the university’s chapter of the Alpha Chi national honor society and the Financial Investments Organization student group. Additionally, he is a member of the Student Government Association, Honors Students Association and Who’s Who Among Students at American Universities and Colleges.
