AP: Driver ticketed in Austin doing 117 mph in rush hour

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Austin police say a driver has been charged with reckless driving after he was clocked doing 117 mph during rush hour.

Police say Etman Samghezli had been involved in an earlier wreck but left the scene.

Court records reviewed by Austin TV station KXAN (http://bit.ly/1KzxMB7 ) show police spotted his car as it was racing through traffic Friday evening. The speed limit on the freeway where he was driving is 65 mph, putting him 52 mph over the limit.

Officers say once they pulled him over, they found a passenger in his car was five months pregnant.
