An Aug. 30 pre-trial date has been set for a 47-year-old San Angelo man charged in the shooting death of a 24-year-old man.
Stephano Miguel Culbreath appeared in Judge Ben Woodward’s courtroom Tuesday for a pre-trial hearing. The trial stems from the July 2015 shooting death of David Titus on West 13th Street.
Culbreath is accused of striking Titus with a vehicle as Titus was riding his bicycle on the street before shooting him in the neck.
According to jail records, Culbreath was booked into the Tom Green County Jail in late July 2015. Additionally, he has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury on a charge of possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 >=1G<4G, a third degree felony, punishable by two to 20 years confinement and a fine of up to $10,000. That charge is from a January 2001 case is DeKalb County, Georgia.
The murder charge, a first degree felony, carries a five to 99 year possible sentence with a fine of up to $10,000.
