Abilene police seeking person of interest in overnight homicide

Abilene police officers are looking for a person of interest in early Sunday morning homicide.

According to a press release issued by Abilene Police Department, APD officers responded to a 911 call about a gunshot victim at 1 a.m. Sunday morning at a residence in north Abilene. Upon arrival officers were told there was a second gunshot victim inside another residence nearby.

The first victim was in critical condition and transported to a local hospital, while the second victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division have identified 20-year-old Manuel Guadalupe Garcia as a person of interest in the homicide.

Garcia should be considered armed and extremely dangerous, according to the release. Police officers are warning people not to approach him.

The deceased was transported to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. Until the family of the deceased has been notified the locations of the incidents will not be revealed.
