One person was transported by ambulance to a hospital after a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Sunset Drive and Sherwood Way Saturday evening. The San Angelo Police Department issued a Nixle alert at 6:33 p.m. asking motorists to avoid the intersection because of the crash.
A dark blue Chevy Silverado, a dark blue Ford Explorer and a red Ford F-250 were involved in the crash.
Traffic investigator Ed Hunger said the red pickup truck was traveling west on Sherwood way and turned left on Sunset Dr. when the accident occurred. The driver of the red pickup did not see that he turned right in front of the blue Chevy, resulting in a major collision between the two. The Chevy was also shoved into the Ford Explorer which was standing still at the red light facing west on Sunset.
Hunger further said the female passenger in the Chevy was transported to Community Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
The person driving the red truck was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
