Tom Green County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a suspect who broke into the Grape Creek High School’s fieldhouse and stole a golf cart.

The TGCSO received a call from Grape Creek High School Athletic Director, Kyle Atwood, informing them that someone had cut the lock to a metal storage shed and stole the golf cart. According to an incident report, Atwood believed the incident happened between Feb. 19 and Feb. 20.

The suspect or suspects drove the cart through a fence and onto a nearby property on Wren Road, where deputies found it next to a tree. Deputies were able to recover a fingerprint and a boot print from the scene. The responding officer believes the print belongs to a size 10 male’s boot.

Atwood said baseball and softball students have access to the building on a daily basis but does not have any suspects in mind.

The golf cart was returned to Grape Creek I.S.D. employees.
