Jury trial this week for man accused of aggravated sexual assault of a child

A jury trial began Wednesday morning for a man accused of aggravated sexual assault of a 13 year-old girl.

The incident happened at a family barbecue in February 2014.

After the barbecue, guests left and family members went to bed. Riordan, the victim and her cousin stayed up. All three fell asleep on a couch inside the home.

According to documents, the defendant began touching the victim’s leg and sexual assaulted her. Riordan told her to not tell anyone. Aggravated sexual assault of a child is a first degree felony.
