23-year-old jailed for aggravated assault with deadly weapon, assaulting public servant

A 23-year-old San Angelo man was arrested on multiple charges Tuesday night after police responded to a family violence call.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, just after 9 p.m. Tuesday, officers were sent to a residence in the 1200 block of Dorchester for the report of family violence where the suspect was said to be “out of control”.

When the officers arrived, the suspect identified as Victor E. Amilivia, rushed the first patrol car on scene and began to repeatedly bang on the hood of the patrol car.

Amilivia then assaulted the responding officer as he exited the car and a fight ensued. When backup arrived, Amilivia was taken into custody.

The Criminal Investigation Division responded and learned that prior to police arrival, Amilivia had assaulted two family members.

No information is available about the condition of the victims or officer or to the damage to the patrol vehicle.

He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a public servant, assault causes bodily injury family violence and criminal mischief >= $750<$ 2,500.
