2-vehicle collision on Knickerbocker sends motorcyclist to hospital with life-threatening injuries

A motorcyclist received severe injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Knickerbocker Road Monday evening.

According to San Angelo Police, an Infinity SUV pulled out eastbound onto Knickerbocker Road from Red Bluff Road, causing the man driving the motorcycle to lock up his brakes. The motorcyclist went into a skid and struck the back left door of the Infinity.

According to San Angelo Police Department Sgt. Quade, the motorcycle slid several hundred feet. A witness told police the motorcycle was not traveling at an excessive rate of speed.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was transported by ambulance to Shannon Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The woman driving the SUV was uninjured.

The crash is still under investigation and no citations have been issued at this point.
