Illegal firearm possession suspect arrested for felony forgery

38-year-old Jonathan Wayne Staker, one of the suspects in Wednesday’s arrests following a joint operation with Midland Police regarding narcotics trafficking and illegal firearm possession, was arrested Friday for third degree felony forgery.

The warrant, issued by Justice of the Peace J.P. McGuire, named Staker as a suspect in connection to counterfeit currency that was located in yesterday’s operation.

Staker was released from Wednesday’s arrest on a $30,000 bond Thursday morning and taken into custody for the forgery charge around noon Thursday by members of the Department’s Street Crimes and Patrol Division and transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.
