Whataburger fans across the state got their hopes up temporarily after a coupon advertising the fast-food chain would be selling $1 Whataburgers at every location began circulating in social media circles.
The fake flyer said that March 29, 2016, is “Dollar Burger Day” at the popular food chain. The company said on both Facebook and Twitter that the flyer was a fake.
This message was posted on the Whataburger Facebook page Tuesday:
“Today we were notified about a fake promotion shared on social media regarding Whataburgers being sold for $1. We are sorry for the confusion, but this promotion is a hoax, and is not associated with Whataburger in any way.”
