1.41 inches of rainfall recorded in San Angelo by Friday afternoon

The Concho Valley and surrounding areas have received some much need rain. Rain Friday fell on an already saturated ground producing a great deal of run-off. As of Friday afternoon, some low water crossing were blocked off. 

Motorists who typically travel on Southwest Boulevard for their commute home should find a different route. The low water crossing at the Red Arroyo is blocked off between the access road and Green Meadow Drive.

From midnight until 4 p.m. Friday, San Angelo has received a total of 1.41 inches of rain.

Heaviest rainfall totals are around Mason County. In the 24 hours leading up to 7 a.m. Friday, rainfall totals around Mason ranged from 2.85 to 2.02 inches. In that same time frame, counties to the south received the heaviest amounts of precipitation with totals around 1 inch.

In the San Angelo area, most locations receiving a tenth of an inch. These totals do not reflect the Friday’s rainfall after 7 a.m.
