More than $32,000 seized by DPS trooper in Tom Green County traffic stop

The Texas Department of Public Safety seized $32,050 in cash Saturday as a result of a traffic stop in Tom Green County.

At approximately 2 p.m. a DPS trooper initiated a traffic stop on a 2016 Toyota Camry traveling northbound on U.S. 87.

During the traffic stop the trooper observed signs of criminal behavior, obtained probable cause to search the vehicle and discovered the cash hidden inside.

DPS Criminal Investigations Special Agents are assisting in the investigation.

The driver was identified as David Armentor, 23, of Katy. He was arrested and charged with money laundering (a state jail felony) and booked into Tom Green County Jail.
